Prelude Number 1 was written while I was studying composition with Robert Nelson, which was a great experience.  He allowed me to explore combining my favorite elements of classical music with jazz harmonies.  Therefore, I wrote this piece which harkens back to Debussy’s preludes as well as Bill Evans’ soloing.
