Cattle Drive for Orchestra is a program piece for full orchestra.  The piece tells the story of a traditional cattle drive, where the cowboys awaken to a beautiful sunrise in the American West, with the red rock, wide open country, and big skies.  The party gets on the trail, and a storm cloud appears.  They all hunker down for safety from the storm.  After the deluge, the sun peaks out and recapitulates the beautiful sunrise, and the party gets back onto the trail.  Finally, a homecoming as they arrive at their final destination.  Grade 4-5
